The Open Door Reading and Writing Center currently offers a FREE educational learning program to the community from classroom located in the Sagamore Business Center, 300 Legacy Plaza West, LaPorte.  The Center, open to the public forty hours a week, features three educational software programs, Rosetta Stone, Reading Horizons and Skillsbank.  These programs assist students in reading, writing, math, life skills, survival skills and English as a second language (ESL).  The ESL learning program assists students in listening, speaking, reading and writing.  Students work individually and at their own pace.  Student work is then monitored and tracked through a computer management system.  Students also have the opportunity to brush up on their computer skills using Microsoft applications.  The center also offers free use of the internet for job searching and resume writing.
