What is a Chamber of Commerce?
The Greater LaPorte Chamber of Commerce is a
501(c)6 non-profit membership-based organization dedicated to
improving the business climate and quality of living in LaPorte.
Though the Chamber often works with large public agencies,
it is not a
department of any government organization.
Where
is the Chamber office located?
The Chamber office
is located at 414 Lincolnway in downtown LaPorte, just 4 blocks east
of the LaPorte County Court House on the corner of Jackson Street
and Lincolnway. The office has off street parking for customer
convenience.
How do
I get information on visiting or moving to LaPorte?
To acquire
information on visiting or moving to LaPorte, please
contact the
Greater LaPorte Chamber of Commerce. We assemble and mail visitor
and relocation packages by request.
Who are
Chamber members?
Members of the
Greater LaPorte Chamber of Commerce represent virtually every sector
of the business community. Each member pays annual dues to support
and maintain the Chamber’s program of work. In return, Chamber

How do I
become a member of the Chamber?
Joining the
Chamber is easy! Simply call our office at 219.362.3178 or fill out
our online request form. We'll get you more information right away!
Can I pay for my
membership with a credit card?
Yes. The Chamber accepts Master Card, Visa and Discover for payment
of membership dues, publications, marketing services and all
networking events.
My business is not located in the
LaPorte city limits, can I join the Chamber?
Certainly! As an area Chamber, several of our members are not
located in LaPorte.
Is the Chamber a government entity?
The Chamber of Commerce is not a department of the city, county or
state governments.
When was
the Chamber formed?
The Greater
LaPorte Chamber of Commerce was established in 1913 and incorporated
in 1930.
Can I receive or offer discounts as
a Chamber member?
Chamber members may offer and receive discounts through our
Member to Member
discount program. The Chamber also offers its members
discounts on publications, marketing services and for its networking
events.
How can I get more involved at the
Chamber?
Members can choose their preferred level of involvement. Attend
events, participate on a committee and sponsoring programs are all
ways to become more involved. Send us an
email and
make sure you tell us what areas and in what ways you'd like to
become more involved or download the Chamber’s committee preference
form.
If I am not
able to attend an event can I send my employees?
Everyone in your
organization is welcome to attend, either in your place or with
you. In fact, many of our seminars and workshops are aimed at
employees, so watch for emails announcing programs that might be of
interest.
How do I change my
Membership listing information?
You may request changes to your membership listing by calling the

I would like to use the Chamber’s logo in ads,
on the web and in other promotional items. Is this allowed?
Yes. Members may use a special logo
that indicates they are a member of the Greater LaPorte Chamber of
